Running Accomplishments:

Just starting to run and not confident yet! The highlights of my running career include running 5 miles through the hills of west salem. ha. 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Excited to actually finish a race this year! First a 1/2 marathon then H2C!

CDA1/2 Marathon without dying.  

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep in shape, healthy.  Use running/excercise as a form of thearapy and way to clear my head.  It always puts me in a better mood no matter what! 

Personal:

Happily married with a doggie, Frank and a cat Phoebe.  Human children in the future, God willing!

Ran my first 11 miles ever!  It felt good, a little sore yesterday though.  Could be from all the drinking Saturday night.. def. over indulged on food and beverage!

Did loops in Nicole's neighborhood. :) She rode the professional bike.

Then bet on horses, and didnt do so well!  Oh, and golfed.. horrible! But had an awesome Saturday with the Greens!!

Had a much faster pace than yesterday, which felt good.  Ran through the neighborhood with Frankie.  I love it when it's so light out this time of year! BTW- Yesterday was the coldest day EVER in Oregon in May.  Seriously, it was a record.  I'm starting to think it will never get warm out!

Little slower again today.  I think my mind was somewhere else and I wasnt concentrating on my pace.  Plus my pants kept falling down.. Wont wear these again. :) 

I felt very depressed yesterday, I hope my mood is better today.  I have so much to be thankful for!  I dont want to concentrate on the negative in my life. Plus there really isnt that much negative in my life, I just get hung up on the small stuff.  I am going to be all positive today. :)

Okay! The run i was dreading/looking forward to (to see if i could actually do it) is over and i did it! :)

What an absolutely gorgeous day!!  I ran 2, 6 mile loops over to Burly Hill and up Eola.  First loop was with Frank and then dropped him off and rehydrated with coconut water and did the second.  Frankie was pretty well behaved except when he tried to go after this kid on a skate board! I definately had to walk up Eola once the first loop for about .1 miles and about .15 the second time. :( 

All in all a good run, but that hill is the devil himself.

Ran with Frank this morning.  A small polmeranien (sp?) type dog was chasing after us and I didnt even realize it for awhile, then I saw its owner chasing after it, after us!  She did not look happy, then Frank tried to mal it to death and it freaked out.  So I ran her dog back to her and she didnt even say thank you.  She just grabbed her dog with an angry face.  Oh well, I had a good run and its been a good start to what hopefully will be a great day. :)

Did the long run today so it's out of the way for the weekend.  Busy tomorrow morning and then  working in the yard all day and I knew once the afternoon came I would'nt want to run for 2 hours tomorrow!  

Today was sooooooo nice out!! I love it!  

Right now  my legs (mostly my butt and hamstrings) and lower back do not feel good.  After about mile 11 feet and hams started to cramp pretty bad.  I definately do not feel like playing 2 softball games now!  But, off I go.  A couple of beers and bed sounds amazing!

It always cracks me up when I see people doing hard physical activity and then they're smoking, its like an oxymoron.  Today these 3 guys were working really hard in the yard hoe-ing and stuff and smoking.  And a couple of weeks ago I saw this guy mowing his lawn with one hand (pushing the mower) and drinking beer with the other... awesome! 

Already my body is starting to feel better.. and I love the GU.  I got the fruit snack kind and I really like those!

Not impressed with AP :((  I swear its like 10X's windy-er here in the afternoon than in the AM wich makes things very difficult...excuses excuses.

This morning was pretty nice, hopefully it stays this way all day! Felt slow today... knee and hamstring kind of hurt. :(  I need to stretch I think!

I hope Frankie is okay, last night he puked all over the carpet, its sooo disgusting! Then today "the runs" a little. Poor guy.

Felt very slow and not that great. Knee hurts... why on only 3 miles? And it feels like March out again and its supposed to rain for the next 10 DAYS pretty much! Ugh. This means rain in CDA for the race??! Still cant figure out the right setting on my Garmin for splits! Sorry I'm complaining like blah, blah, blah.  I think I have it figured out now it's lap-pace.  Average pace on the current lap??  I dont think I want distance on current lap?  or do I?

Ran outside  this morning. I am convinced the weather will be horrible all summer.  This week is very busy, and makes it hard to even think about the race this weekend!  Just can wait until Thursday, then I can focus better! Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend!  AND the Garmin is automaticallly syncing to the computer again!! Yay! Now just have to figure out the splits!!

Sooo I let the garmin die and then re-charged to reset the settings like Leandrea suggested.  I was all excited this morning because it look like it did reset itself! But then I was wrong.. :( It still wont calculate splits each mile.... someday I'll figure it out?

Last run today before the big race! I am getting excited.  I know I can do it physically, I just need to be in the right mindset mentally!

Yes! I did it. :) This was such a great race, I enjoyed myself thoroughly.  Nicole was the BEST motivator ever. I race, I thought was perfect and I loved running along the lake, it brought back a lot of memories of when I was a kid, living down there.  I will absolutely do it again, and maybe, just maybe a full someday? ... Someday. Not now! We had a great time in Coeurdalene with Justin and Nicole and my parents.  

Running this race was in my top 5 best days ever, for sure! I havent felt this great about myself in a long time; I remember feelling like this when we won state in Softball and Basketball in high school .  (It seems stupid and insignificant now.. but it's all I have to compare it to!) I had such a great sense of accomplishment. I achieved something I didnt think was possible.
